The Eddie Bravo Invitational has just made it’s triumphant return with EBI 19 and the results really do speak for themselves. The promotion has been absent from our calendars for a very long time indeed as the team behind it have had their attention focused on Combat Jiu Jitsu and Bravo’s female-only venture, Medusa. That’s why fans were ecstatic when Bravo announced the return of EBI, with the promotion’s nineteenth event scheduled for 2022. It featured a lineup of elite talent from top to bottom, all competing in a tournament to be crowned the EBI 19 Welterweight champion.
One of the most exciting competitors of the night was one of John Danaher’s black belts, Oliver Taza, who submitted his first two opponents and booked his place in the semi-finals after just a little over eight minutes of grappling. There he had a tough match against Matt Serra black belt Nick Ronan but managed to overcome him in EBI overtime, earning his place in the final opposite Alan Sanchez. Sanchez took less than six minutes to finish his first two opponents before submitting Pablo Lavaselli in EBI overtime and the final match between the two was a tough one before Sanchez secured the victory by fastest escape time and was crowned champion.
