It seems like Dillon Danis is going to be fully pursuing an MMA career once again, as he has just been booked for his second fight of the year against Anthony Taylor. The fight will serve as the co-main event for Misfits Boxing 23 on December 20th, 2025 and it will also mark the promotion’s first MMA title-defense. Danis is their only MMA champion at present, as he won the inaugural light-heavyweight title by submitting Warren Spencer earlier this year. It took him just 15 seconds to finish the fight and complete his comeback to the sport, but he was the heavy favorite going into the fight given his massive grappling advantage.
That was Danis’ first professional MMA fight in over 6 years, but he was at one point an exciting prospect in the sport. He made his professional debut at Bellator in 2018 and rattles off two first-round submission finishes against experienced fighters. His career hit a roadblock when he suffered an injury though, and since then he has spent more time on social media than he has competing. He’s still become one of the most well-known figures in the combat sports world though, largely thanks to his controversial actions and divisive personality. It appears as though it’s paid off in the long run though, as he’s clearly getting fairly lucrative fight offers as a result of his status.
This will probably be the toughest challenge of his MMA career to date though, as Anthony Taylor is a legitimate fighter with plenty of experience. He has a 7-5 professional MMA record that includes multiple Bellator appearances, and he currently holds the Misfits Boxing light-heavyweight title after switching sports. Danis should still have a pretty big skill advantage on the ground even though Taylor has more experience there than anyone he’s fought before, but Taylor should have enough of a standing advantage to make up for it too. The two men have a little bit of history with each other too, as they got caught up in a parking lot brawl together about 3 years ago.
Misfits Boxing announced the news that Dillon Danis would defend his title against Anthony Taylor in a recent post to their official Instagram account:
