Dillon Danis has had something of an unusual combat sports career but it was almost a lot crazier, as he reportedly came very close to having a boxing match with Eddie Hall. Not only does Hall have a huge weight advantage over Danis but as a former World’s Strongest Man winner, the strength advantage would be gigantic. Hall stands at 6’2 and usually weighs somewhere between 300 and 400lbs, whereas Danis is 6’0 and weighs around 180lbs. That’s actually what stopped the fight from happening, as both men were willing but the relevant boxing commission wouldn’t sanction a fight with that much of a size difference.
Both men have the same amount of boxing experience at the moment too, as they both have 0-1 professional records. The difference is that Hall was pretty competitive even though he lost a unanimous decision to Hafthor Bjornsson, whereas Danis was not able to be competitive in his boxing match. He was outstruck in every single round and in many of them only threw a handful of punches to begin with, before he was eventually disqualified when a brawl broke out. Given the marked differences in their performances and the massive size difference, it’s hard to imagine that this would have gone any other way than a clear win for Hall.
Although the boxing match between Dillon Danis and Eddie Hall didn’t come to fruition, it isn’t the only fight that Danis has been working on. Another match against YouTube star KSI fell apart in 2023 when Danis withdrew from it on just a few days’ notice, but it has since been rebooked. It took quite some time for the pair to come to terms and KSI has had five more professional boxing matches since then, moving up to 4-1 (1) in the process. They did manage to get the fight rebooked in the end though, and they will now be meeting in just a few weeks’ time.
Misfits Boxing announced that they almost managed to book the fight between Dillon Danis and Eddie Hall in a recent post to their official Twitter account:
