The dates and location for the IBJJF Pan Championship 2024 have just been confirmed, and the event is going to take place from March 19th to 24th, 2024. As always, the first day of this period will be used as an additional overflow day if the number of registered competitors exceeds a certain limit. The IBJJF has also announced that the event will take place in Osceola Heritage Park, located in Kissimmee, Florida. Although the city has remained the same as the 2023 edition of the tournament, the venue has changed from the Silver Spurs Arena.
This is one of the four major IBJJF events that take place every year, so it will undoubtedly attract dozens of elite black belt competitors from all around the world. A lot of attention will naturally be placed on the returning champions from 2023, as they will almost always be the favorites to win their divisions again. Not only is winning the IBJJF Pan Championship a huge accomplishment in and of itself, but it also forms part of the coveted IBJJF Grand Slam. Winning all four of these major IBJJF events is an incredible achievement that pretty much guarantees competitors a place in the IBJJF Hall of Fame.
As with any major grappling event, there will certainly be a number of storylines leading up to the IBJJF Pan Championship 2024 and plenty of fantastic moments on the mats over the course of the tournament. When the dust had settled on the 2023 edition, Adam Wardzinski had made history with an incredible comeback in the final to secure his first IBJJF Pan Championship gold medal and Zayed Alkatheeri had become the first UAE athlete to win a major IBJJF event. It’ll be interesting to see how the build-up to the event develops, and whether any new stars will emerge once it’s come to an end.
