Danielle Kelly has been one of the most exciting female grapplers in the lower weightclasses for quite some time, and she’ll make a fantastic addition to any MMA roster now she’s decided to make a transition to the sport. She’s been an impressive force on the BJJ competition circuit for quite some time, even though she wasn’t able to emerge victorious in her most recent elite competitive appearance at the WNO Championships. Since then, she’s also been seen competing in the co-main event of Fury Pro Grappling 2 where she won a very convincing decision against Cathryn Millares and she had this to say in her post-match interview:

“Obviously I wanted a submission. But for this match, I wanted to work on my top game, my takedowns. I’m not just a one-trick pony. But it feels good fighting in front of everyone in my hometown.”

Of course, it wasn’t long before the conversation with Danielle Kelly turned to her move to MMA and she reassured fans of hers that she won’t be leaving Jiu-Jitsu competition behind entirely:

“I still want to do jiu-jitsu, but I’ll practice striking. I’ll go against anyone at 115.”
