Dana White recently gave his thoughts on the idea of Ronda Rousey making a comeback to the world of professional MMA. It’s been almost 9 years since Rousey last stepped in the octagon and she’s undergone a number of massive life changes since then, including having two children. With such a long time away from the sport and turning 38 earlier this year, it seems unlikely that Rousey would want to throw herself back into MMA but that hasn’t stopped the rumours from swirling. They’ve been pretty persistent over the last two years and although major figures in the sport have seemed confident she would return, Rousey has never publicly put herself forward.

Although she hasn’t said she’ll be making a return herself, she has been training with other elite MMA fighters like Cat Zingano recently. Her increased activity is a big part of the rumours surrounding her comeback, as it looks like she’s as sharp as ever now. When asked about Rousey returning to MMA, White wasn’t too confident about it even though they’re still in contact:

“Yeah, her and I are still very close. We probably talk once every three months or something like that, and she was in Vegas recently and came by the offices. But I don’t know what her plans are. I think she’s just training again.”

Ronda Rousey might not have an official comeback announced, but Dana White has noticed that she’s back in fighting shape too:

“She just had another baby and she’s in great shape right now. I mean, she’s freaking ripped, like she used to be. So, I don’t know.”

It would probably take quite a lot to bring Rousey back to the sport seeing as she’s been happily retired for almost a decade and it’s unlikely that she’s in need of money after a successful WWE career. There is more money in the sport than ever before though and the return of a legend like Rousey would generate a ton of interest, so White might be willing to make her a seriously impressive offer. Then there’s also the small matter of the UFC event at the White House in 2026, which obviously needs the biggest star-power possible.
