Damien Anderson just moved to 3-0 in his professional MMA career with yet another finish against Emmanuel Calhoune at Fury FC 95 on August 2nd, 2024. Anderson has been one of the top grapplers competing under the B-Team Jiu-Jitsu banner for a while now and his transition to MMA has been going exceptionally well. It hasn’t even been a full year since he made his professional debut but he’s already become one of the top prospects in the sport. The signs of his future success were already there when he dominated his one and only amateur fight and won after a little over a minute in the cage though.
That amateur fight took place at the beginning of 2023 and he made the decision to turn professional at the end of the year. He was just as impressive there as well, racking up another first-round finish with strikes. Anderson was able to show off his rapidly improving striking throughout his amateur and professional debuts but obviously his biggest strength in MMA was always going to be his elite grappling. It wasn’t until his second professional fight that he got his first submission win, and this was also the first time that it took him more than a single round to find the finish.
His third fight at Fury FC 95 actually went in a similar fashion, as Emmanuel Calhoune made it to the second round before Damien Anderson locked up the rear-naked choke to win. Anderson is now 3-0 with three finishes and he’s definitely going to start attracting attention from some of the biggest promotions in the sport, if he hasn’t already. With his fights being broadcast on UFC Fight Pass, it wouldn’t be surprising to see him getting signed to the UFC or at the very least getting an opportunity on Dana White’s Contender Series.
