Damien Anderson has just continued along down a fantastic path in his professional MMA career, racking up yet another finish at Fury FC 92 on June 16th, 2024. Although Anderson is known as a grappler first and foremost, he’s been working on his Muay Thai skills and was able to show off some crisp striking during what little time he actually spent in the cage. It’s still very early days when it comes to his career as an MMA fighter, but already Anderson is looking like a top prospect and he’ll undoubtedly start attracting attention from major promotions like the UFC before long.
Anderson has been one of the more successful B-Team Jiu-Jitsu competitors for quite some time now and he’s been able to hold his own at the highest level of the sport, so it was only natural that he was going to have some success on the regional MMA circuit. He made his amateur debut at the beginning of 2023 but he didn’t waste any time at all in moving up the ranks. Anderson won that fight by KO in the first round and turned professional immediately afterward, despite spending just over a minute in the cage.
He made his professional debut then at the end of the year and it was another quick finish for Anderson, this time taking just over two minutes to knock out his opponent. This latest fight at Fury FC 92 might have been his longest one to date, but it was still a flawless performance from Damien Anderson. He saw the second round for the first time in his career and after spending some time working on his striking, he took the fight to the ground and locked up a rear-naked choke to get the tap. Anderson now moves to 2-0 as a professional MMA fighter and it’ll be interesting to see just how far he can go in the sport.
