Top B-Team Jiu-Jitsu competitor Damien Anderson has just announced that he will be making his professional MMA debut on November 5th, 2023. He already has a fantastic grappling background and he’s used to competing at a high level in no gi grappling for quite some time, so the development of his skills for MMA has come along significantly quicker than most. He’s been planning the move for a while now and the signs were there early on that he would have some success in the sport, as he managed to produce the first knockout in Combat Jiu-Jitsu history all the way back in 2022.
Anderson has been adding Muay Thai and improving his striking skills over that time as well, leading up to his amateur MMA debut at the beginning of 2023. He obviously had the grappling advantage over his opponent but in the end he didn’t even need it, as he decided to work his striking against him instead. Anderson won that fight by knockout after just a little over a minute of action and given how impressively he performed on the night, it seems as though he’s decided that he’s ready for the next step up in competition.
Although Damien Anderson has surely been focusing on preparing for his professional MMA career, he has also opened up the very first B-Team affiliate gym in New Jersey too. There’s no news on who he will be fighting when he makes the jump up in competition, but he was signed to Fury FC for his amateur career and it appears as though he will be continuing with that promotion. With his skillset, Anderson will likely dominate on the regional MMA circuit and it’ll be interesting to see where his career goes once he gets the call from the major MMA promotions.
