PFL 2 (2025) took place on April 11th, 2025 and the results featured some really unusual submission finishes right from the start. The very first match saw undefeated prospect Elora Dana locking up a brutal guillotine from top half-guard, cranking incredibly hard on her opponent’s neck to get the finish in the first round. Elite grappler Jena Bishop was up next and she put on a great display of striking in the clinch for two rounds before securing the unanimous decision with dominant grappling in the final round. There was plenty for Jiu- Jitsu fans to enjoy throughout the first two fights, but it was the next one where things got really special. Jake Hadley submitted his opponent in the third round using the rare Scottish twister, a submission popularized by fellow PFL veteran Stevie Ray.
Ekaterina Shakalova then closed the preliminary card off with yet another submission win, locking up a rear-naked choke to earn a surprise upset win over Julianna Velasquez. The main card opened with Justin Wetzell getting a unanimous decision win over Kasum Kasumov largely thanks to his wrestling, before Mando Gutierrez joined the submission finishers at PFL 2 (2025) with a rear-naked choke of his own in the first round. Veteran Liz Carmouche landed some nasty ground and pound for a first-round finish of her own next, before Marcirley Alves became the only fighter of the night to use his striking to win a decision.
