Craig Jones has just made the huge announcement that CJI 2 has now been fully funded and the event is scheduled for August, 2025. After spending over $3 million in order pay for the first edition of the tournament that he created, fans were left with a ton of questions. The event was undoubtedly a success from their point of view, as it was one of the most entertaining tournaments that the sport has ever seen. The viewership figures were publicly available from day 1 given that it was streamed on YouTube and it was clear that the event was popular, but it was unclear how much of a financial success it was.
The Craig Jones Invitational had a pretty hefty bill to pay off if it wanted to prove that the concept was one that could stay around, but early reports from Nicky Rodriguez indicated that it had done just that. Although things looked positive for the event at first, there still hadn’t been any official information released and fans were naturally growing curious as to whether it would return. Then Jones announced that they had raised half a million dollars for charity, something that was only possible if CJI actually made more money than it cost to put on in the first place.
Now that the inaugural Craig Jones Invitational was one of the most entertaining events of the year and it had proven to be a financial success, all that was left was to secure funding for a second edition. Craig Jones has just revealed that the funding is in, and he’s scheduled CJI 2 for August, 2025:
“Guys, I’m here for a massive announcement. This announcement comes at a very important time given the boring a** grappling events that went on this weekend, but I have received funding for CJI 2 and I can confirm August 2025 in Las Vegas. Last time I received a gift of 3 million dollars, gave it all away like an absolute f***ing idiot. This time I’ve had to borrow that money, potentially from some bad people, but don’t worry I’ve put my business partner Seth’s family up as collateral. We can confirm CJI 2, August 2025, Las Vegas.”
Craig Jones made the announcement that he had secured funding and booked CJI 2 for 2025 in a recent post to the official YouTube channel of B-Team Jiu-Jitsu:
