Top BJJ competitor Carlos Henrique just had the second fight of his blossoming amateur MMA career at Fury FC 113 on January 18th, 2026 and he came away with another victory. Although he’s obviously still early on in his transition and has only been competing in MMA for a few months, he’s already drawing the attention of the biggest organization in the sport. Competing for Fury FC is a huge help in itself, as their events air on UFC Fight Pass and it’s one of the bigger feeder promotions for the UFC, but a lot of Henrique’s notoriety is coming from the relationships that he’s already built himself.
Henrique has done an excellent job in the cage of course, finishing both of his fights with brutal strikes on the ground. For this second fight in particular he was able to showcase his skills against Patrick Olinma across all three rounds before finishing him, letting the world see that he could go far in MMA. It’s rare for a fighter still working through amateur fights on the regional MMA circuit to draw such attention though, and a lot of it is because Henrique has such strong ties to the UFC already as the reigning UFC BJJ lightweight world champion.
Henrique won the inaugural season of UFC BJJ: Road To The Title in order to become their lightweight champion and he’s even managed to defend the belt since then too. He beat Matheus Gabriel by decision in the co-main event of UFC BJJ 3 for his first title-defense, but since then he’s been focused on MMA. He made his debut just a few weeks later and now with his second fight under his belt, it shouldn’t be too long before he makes the move to professional competition. He has the skills on the ground to succeed at the highest level and his striking has come a long way already, so it might not be too long before Henrique becomes the first UFC BJJ champion to compete in the UFC.
UFC Fight Pass shared the footage of Carlos Henrique winning his second amateur MMA fight at Fury FC 113 in a recent post to their official Instagram account:
