The January 2026 update has been applied to the Jits Magazine BJJ Rankings and the full standings can be found here. It’s been a pretty big year for both gi and no gi grappling, with several high-paying professional events and a few new stars emerging in the sport. The IBJJF No Gi World Championship closed out 2025 in a big way, attracting dozens of elite grapplers from every corner of the world and generating a ton of stories. The superfight circuit was just as quiet as it usually is in December, but ACBJJ 20 stood out thanks to some pretty big matchups.

Jits Magazine BJJ Rankings – January 2026 Update
Men’s No Gi BJJ Rankings
Bantamweight – Under 135lbs
Featherweight – Under 148lbs
Marco Mendes also enters the rankings after winning his first no gi world title, and he is now number fourteen at featherweight.
Lightweight – Under 162lbs
There was only a small change at lightweight after No Gi Worlds, with Cole Abate slotting in at number fifteen in a new division.
Welterweight – Under 175lbs
Tarik Hopstock is yet another new entrant in the no gi rankings after winning a world title and he now sits at 13th at welterweight.
Middleweight – Under 190lbs
The biggest change here actually came from ACBJJ 20 when Nikolay Dmitrakov got an upset win, and he has broke into the rankings for the very first time at number seven. Pawel Jaworski has moved up into 11th after No Gi Worlds while Gabriel Brod is right behind him at 12th and Logan Smith is 13th.
Light-Heavyweight – Under 205lbs
The only change at light-heavyweight is the entry of Javier Barter, who now occupies the 12th spot.
Heavyweight – Under 225lbs
Nicholas Maglicic breaks into the heavyweight rankings after a fantastic year all-round, and he’s now 10th here as well as being ranked in the division above.
Super-Heavyweight – Over 225lbs

Russian black belt Anton Dmitrakov got a huge win at ACBJJ 20, breaking into the rankings at super-heavyweight all the way up in 3rd as a result.

Jits Magazine Women’s No Gi BJJ Rankings
Strawweight – Under 115lbs
Ashlee Funegra won No Gi Worlds on her very first attempt and she now sits at 9th, while silver medalist Faye Cherrier also breaks into the rankings behind her in 10th.
Featherweight – Under 125lbs
There were no changes in the January 2026 update for this division of the Jits Magazine BJJ Rankings.
Lightweight – Under 135lbs
Lillian Marchand was another new world champion and she had to beat some top-ranked opposition in her division, so she now sits at 3rd in one of the deepest weight classes. Amanda Bruse also moves up a single space into 5th after reaching the podium, while a big win in the early rounds sees Zara Di Tofano advancing into 7th.
Middleweight – Under 146lbs
There was just a single change at the bottom of the middleweight rankings, as Rebeca Lima now sits at number fifteen after winning a silver medal. There was a bigger change at the top though, as Elisabeth Clay moved up two spaces and breaks into the top five.
Heavyweight – Over 146lbs
The 15th spot changed at heavyweight too, as Cassia Moura moved up multiple weight classes at no gi worlds and still won gold.
Pound for Pound
Elisabeth Clay moves up here too after becoming the absolute champion at No Gi Worlds and she’s now the new number fifteen.

Giovanna Parmisano scored a huge upset in the BJJ Clubes grand finale 2025, and she has now earned a spot in the rankings at number six.
