Beatriz ‘Bia’ Mesquita has just extended the incredible start she’s had in her professional MMA career with yet another submission finish over Montserrat Rendon at UFC Vegas 114 on March 14th, 2026. She was already 5-0 on the regional MMA circuit even before coming into the UFC and nobody had managed to go the distance with her yet. She made her promotional debut at the end of last year and it was yet another flawless victory, as she submitted Irina Alekseeva in the second round. That meant that the promotion was ready to give her an even tougher matchup this time around, but she passed this test with flying colors.
Rendon came out very aggressive right from the start of their fight and she was throwing at high volume, but Mesquita was using good head movement and footwork to not get cornered. Mesquita caught Rendon with a stiff right hand as she was coming in and wobbled her as a result, so she immediately sprang into action. She swarmed Rendon with strikes and tossed her to the ground, landing plenty more as Rendon stood back up. Then Mesquita hit a textbook single-leg straight to a knee-cut pass, before stepping into mount and raining down punches. Rendon eventually turned away to protect herself and Mesquita locked up the rear-naked choke for the finish at 2:07 of the first round.
