Beatriz ‘Bia’ Mesquita To Return Against Montserrat Rendon At UFC Vegas 114

Beatriz ‘Bia’ Mesquita has just booked her second UFC fight, and she will be facing Montserrat Rendon at UFC Vegas 114 on March 14th, 2026. This will also be the toughest fight of Mesquita’s career so far, as Rendon has a better record than anyone else she’s faced so far. She also has more experience at this level; having been fighting in the UFC since 2023 and holding a winning promotional record. Rendon is 2-1 in the UFC and 7-1 overall; and the fact that all of her fights have gone to decision has meant that she has spent a tremendous amount of time in the cage.

Although Rendon might have more experience than Mesquita in the octagon, the years that Mesquita has spent competing and winning at the highest level of Jiu-Jitsu is just as valuable. Grappling will obviously be where Mesquita has the biggest advantage and taking the fight to the ground is her most likely path to victory. If past fights are anything to go by, she will be looking to use her striking to take Rendon down as soon as she can. She doesn’t just focus on the submission though, she uses ground and pound to great effect and will happily finish by TKO if she can.

Although most of her fights have been won by rear-naked choke, including her promotional debut at UFC Rio last year, she hasn’t really hunted the back much during her career so far. Instead her gameplan has generally been to pass to mount and rain down shots, then sink in the choke when her opponent inevitably turns away to defend. Rendon has a high output on the feet and hasn’t been taken down in the UFC yet though, so standing and striking is almost certainly going to be her approach to the fight. The winner here will probably enter the rankings for the first time too, earning the opportunity for even bigger fights moving forward.

UFC Brasil announced the news that Beatriz ‘Bia’ Mesquita will return against Montserrat Rendon at UFC Vegas 114 in a recent post to their official Instagram account:
