Battleground Grappling 7 took place on March 7th, 2025 and some of the best grapplers from all around Australia put on an excellent show. There was plenty of action in the preliminary card and it built up the anticipation excellently, but the main card was where the big names stepped on the mat. Narek Tumanyan kicked things off with the first Combat Jiu-Jitsu match of the night and he landed some heavy strikes to wear his opponent down before securing the rear-naked choke. James Wong got the win by decision in the second one later on in the card, beating short-notice replacement Steve Kennedy.

Josh Shipton delivered the final submission of the night and he did so in impressive fashion, locking up a tight head and arm choke to force his opponent to tap. The co-main event then daw Daiki Yonekura put up a valiant effort in an openweight match, but Josh Alsopp ultimately got the win by decision. The main event of the evening was the only title-fight, and it saw Kaya Rudolph putting the under 90kg title on the line against Anton Minenko. It was going to be the first title-defense for Rudolph and a huge opportunity to cement his place at the top of Australian grappling after winning the title at Battleground Grappling 5. Rudolph did exactly that and came away with the decision win in the end to remain the champion.
