Battleground Grappling 5 took place on March 2nd, 2024 and the promotion featured some of the best grapplers from all around Australia in their results. The lineup was stacked with veteran competitors and young prospects alike, with dozens of matches taking place throughout the night. With tons of submission finishes on both the juniors card and preliminary card, there was a great deal of momentum leading into the bigger matches on the main card. The co-main event saw Tito Carle using some devastating pressure from the top to submit Alex Hungahunga, becoming the promotion’s heavyweight champion in the process. The final match of the night was up next and Kaya Rudolph weathered a late storm of leg attacks from Ricky Pachon to win a decision, and the under 90kg title.
