B-Team Jiu-Jitsu has just decided to run their very first white belt program at their headquarters in Austin, Texas, starting on February 27th, 2023. Up until now the gym has only been open to grapplers who have already been promoted to blue belt and above, although they have always been welcoming towards competitors and hobbyists alike. This has undoubtedly helped keep the level in the training room high and also ensure that everybody attending any classes taught by the elite competitors at the gym are able to keep up with everything that they’re being shown.
Despite being one of the newest teams around, B-Team Jiu-Jitsu managed to attract a huge number of new athletes thanks to the four elite grapplers who were running the show. The team has gone from strength to strength since they first opened and had a solid showing in their first major tournament at ADCC 2022 where they took home a few medals. The team has even grown enough in size to warrant opening up a second location, the first B-Team affiliate gym in New Jersey that will be headed up by Damien Anderson.
The new white belt classes are going to be taught by one of the most popular athletes training at B-Team Jiu-Jitsu, JB Bechtloff. They will take place every evening from Monday to Friday at 6pm, and the curriculum has been designed by the four co-owners of the gym together so it’s a safe bet that it’ll be invaluable for anyone who walks through those doors. It’ll be a fantastic opportunity for any newcomers to the sport in the nearby area, as they’ll be able to start their BJJ journey in high-level company from the very start.
The news that B-Team Jiu-Jitsu was going to run their very first white belt program was announced in a video that was uploaded to the gym’s official YouTube channel:
