The AIGA Champions League Semi-Final 2023 took place on December 13th, 2023 and the results saw two teams progress to the final on the following day. Four teams of elite grapplers had already battled their way through quarter-final groups in order to make it here and this was a straight knockout match to determine the finalists. On one side of the bracket, the early favorites Team Modolfo stormed to victory by winning all 7 of their matches and 3 of those wins coming by way of submission. While that was the most predictable outcome given some of the elite competitors representing them, the other side of the bracket was far more competitive.
Universal Fighters qualified alongside Team Modolfo from their quarter-final group and actually won the round against them back then. This was a clear sign that they were going to be tough to beat and they were matched up with the top team from the other quarter-final group, Acai Republic. There was some surprises along the way and plenty of action-packed matches, with both representatives from both teams managing to emerge victorious. In the end, Acai Republic won 4-3 and booked their place opposite Team Modolfo in the final.
