The AIGA Champions League Final 2023 took place on December 14th, 2023 and the winners were crowned after the results of 14 matches. Four teams of elite competitors had earned the right to be there by qualifying from quarter-final rounds earlier in the year and now there was just two days left for them to determine this year’s champions. The semi-final had taken place the previous day and it was there that Team Modolfo and Acai Republic booked their place in the final, while Universal Fighters and Battle Force had to settle for a third-place match.

The third-place round was incredibly close, with both Universal Fighters and Battle Force winning three matches each before the last two grapplers stepped on the mats. It ended on a sour note for Battle Force though, as Pouya Rahmani was disqualified for slamming his opponent and that gave Universal Fighters the win. The final wasn’t as close, as Team Modolfo stormed to victory by beating Acai Republic 5-2 in their round. There were a number of highlights across their journey through the tournament and ever member of the team did their part, producing slick submission finishes and convincing points wins over the course of two days.
