Adele Fornarino has just become the latest in a string of elite competitors to sign an exclusive European contract for multiple matches with Polaris. She’s never competed for the promotion before and will now be making her debut in 2026, although it’s still very early days so an opponent is yet to be confirmed. There’s plenty of options for Polaris to choose from though, as the promotion has been making some huge moves in recent months. They’ve added a number of top competitors to their roster ready for next year but the women’s divisions in particular have been stacked with some excellent signings lately.
It’s a great decision for both Polaris and Fornarino, as they’ve secured the services of one of the best competitors in the world and she has the opportunity to add another major title to her collection. Fornarino is the ADCC 2024 double champion and the only active female competitor to hold that title, so she really does have her pick of promotions to sign with. Polaris must have offered an impressive sum to secure Fornarino but even outside of that, they can also offer her a pretty clear path to a title because both the flyweight and bantamweight titles are currently vacant.
Ffion Davies was the last woman to hold either of them but she has now left the promotion so will not be looking to defend those titles; and Fornarino would be the natural choice to compete for either of them. Polaris also recently signed Sarah Galvao and she would be a great opponent for Fornarino in a bantamweight title-fight, but Fornarino does generally compete at flyweight if she can. Danielle Kelly also signed with Polaris ready for 2026 and she could potentially move up to that weight to meet Fornarino, but if not then they also have several elite grapplers who made an impact at the first female Squads match at Polaris 32.
Polaris announced the news that Adele Fornarino had signed a multi-match exclusive European contract with them in a recent post to their official Instagram account:
