The ADCC Buenos Aires Open 2025 took place on March 8th, 2025 and it some fantastic talent from all around South America made the trip to Argentina to compete. Peruvian brown belt Lucas Torres stood out in the men’s divisions, as he was the one to come away with two gold medals. He won both the under 83kg and the absolute divisions, winning 9 matches with 4 submissions by the end of the day. Nicolas Reategui stood next to Torres on both podiums, taking a silver medal both times even though he scored 7 submissions in the other 8 matches he had along the way to the final.
The women’s absolute champion was Marta Ovalle, another brown belt who was coming from Chile to test herself in Buenos Aires. She had to settle for a bronze medal in her own weight class at under 70kg, being submitted by top Uruguayan competitor Antonella Massaro there before she returned the favor in the absolute bracket. Another Chilean grappler, Constanza Nenen, put in a performance that deserves a special mention too. Nenen won the lightest women’s division at under 55kg and then made it all the way to the final of the absolute despite being at a size disadvantage in most of her matches there.
