The ADCC Asia and Oceania Trials 2023 took place on November 25th, 2023 and the results of the event meant that 5 more elite men’s competitors have now been invited to ADCC 2024. There was some great action in the women’s divisions as well, but unfortunately there were no invites available for them to win. That meant that there weren’t many female competitors in each weight class, but Adele Fornarino stood out for winning the busiest women’s division. Not only did she submit all three of her opponents, but she did so in a combined total of less than three minutes as well.

There were some surprises in the men’s divisions, particularly in the under 66kg division where Ethan Thomas came out of nowhere to win his place at ADCC 2024. The 88kg division also included a bit of a surprise as well, as Izaak Michell stepped on the mats despite not being listed in the original competitor list. He stormed to victory to win that weight class, and he wasn’t the only ADCC 2022 veteran who will now return in 2024. Kenta Iwamoto won the 77kg division again, and Josh Saunders dominated the over 99kg division. The final division was won by Declan Moody, who’s come a long way in the last year or so and will now get his chance to shine in the under 99kg division at ADCC 2024.

Before you read the results of the ADCC Asia and Oceania Trials 2023, check out our full preview of the each of the divisions.
