ADCC have just announced a new strategic partnership with Smoothcomp for all of their future events. Smoothcomp is the world’s biggest and most popular tournament organizational software that allows anyone to arrange events, complete with brackets and live updates to scheduling. It’s frequently used for Jiu-Jitsu tournaments and is the software of choice for a number of popular tournament organizers like Grappling Industries and NAGA. With this news, ADCC had immediately become the biggest promotion that can be found on Smoothcomp.
The partnership makes sense, as ADCC have recently signed an exclusive multi-year streaming deal with UFC FightPass and left the promotion’s previous home of FloGrappling. When ADCC was streamed on FloGrappling, they used the software provided by the streaming service in order to show live updates to brackets and registrations for their events. UFC Fight Pass on the other hand hasn’t ever offered a similar service before as most of the events that it streams are single-night fight cards for smaller organizations. With that in mind, either UFC Fight Pass were going to have to create an entirely new system just for ADCC or the promotion was going to have to go elsewhere for this element of matchmaking.
For that reason, the new partnership between ADCC and Smoothcomp makes perfect sense. Smoothcomp are really the best choice in the world if anyone is looking for tournament organizational software and given that there’s still quite a bit of time left before ADCC 2024, there’s also plenty of time for both sides to iron out any kinks by then. While any new venture is susceptible to teething problems, there’s no better promotion on the planet than ADCC and no better software available than Smoothcomp so, on paper at least, this partnership looks like a guaranteed success.
