ADCC are now continuing their huge expansion by hosting the first edition of their Brazilian National Championship in 2025. Although the main ADCC event still takes place every two years and the ADCC Trials have remained unchanged in recent times, the promotion are continually pushing forward with their ADCC Open tournaments. What used to be a handful of tournaments every year conducted under ADCC rules has since turned into one of the biggest organizers in the world. They now regularly put together massive tournaments in several countries, featuring many elite Jiu-Jitsu competitors as they try to get regular experience in before the next big event.
They’ve expanded far beyond America and Brazil now, hosting their first Canadian Open in 2023 and even moving into Mexico and elsewhere in the Americas like Peru and Chile. It seems like the next phase of that expansion is to bring together all of the best grapplers in each country for a national event outside of the regular Trials. ADCC started out by announcing their first US National Championship for August 9th, 2025 but now their first Brazilian National Championship will take place in the same year. It’s possible that Melqui Galvao’s recent campaign to bring ADCC 2026 to Brazil has had an impact on this too, as this is likely going to be the next best thing after the main event.
The promotion has announced that the first Brazilian Nationals will happen in November and the pair of ADCC South American Trials traditionally happen in March, which makes this the perfect test before starting a full training camp for them. It will almost certainly attract several ADCC veterans who might not be guaranteed an invite to ADCC 2026, like Fabricio Andrey and Pedro Marinho, making the level of competition very high indeed. That will also bring out a ton of exciting young talent as well, because the opportunity to challenge themselves against the very best in the world does not come around often.
ADCC Brasil announced the news that they were holding their first Brazilian National Championship in 2025 in a recent post to their official Instagram account:
