The Abu Dhabi Grand Slam Tour reached the final stop of the season on May 18th, 2025, bringing it to a close in Abu Dhabi with some great results. There were quite a few good performances in fact, starting with Bruno Borges and Andrew Soares; who won the two lightest men’s divisions at light-featherweight and featherweight respectively. Nurzhan Batyrbekov surprised everyone by winning gold at lightweight, while Alexander Sak did the same at super-heavyweight. Lucas Protasio and Uanderson Ferreira were probably the most predictable champions of the day at welterweight and middleweight, with the final gold medal at light-heavyweight going to Vladimir Blium.

There weren’t many surprises in the women’s divisions, starting with Diana Teixeira winning the gold medal at roosterweight. Gabriela Pereira won the next weight class up at light-featherweight and she had to beat some tough opposition to do it, while the lightweight division was won by Tamara Toros. The two heaviest women’s weight classes are where the biggest names were competing, and they both stormed through their brackets. Thamara Ferreira won the middleweight division with a solid performance while the heavyweight division saw veteran competitor Yara Soares demonstrate why she’s one of the best in the world at her weight.
