The Abu Dhabi Grand Slam just made the latest stop on it’s tour of the world in Moscow on August 31st, 2025 and there was some serious talent on the mats. There were just two competitors who finished the day with a 100% finishing rate, as Gabriela Pereira and Polina Titarenko both beat two opponents by submission at light-featherweight and lightweight respectively. Yara Soares put on a characteristically flawless performance at heavyweight, winning one match by submission and running up a huge score to win 13-0 on points in the second. The other two female champions were pretty big names too; Diana Teixeira at roosterweight and Rafaela Bertolot at middleweight.

All the male champions had pretty tough journeys to gold, but none of them had more than 3 matches. Mikail Rhaillander and Tamerlan Eslemeslov were the only ones to submit two out of three opponents, doing so at middleweight and light-heavyweight respectively. Christian Lara also had to beat 3 men to win the lightweight division, while top contender Jefferson Goteu did the same at welterweight. Viacheslev Ilin won both of his matches with on points at super-heavyweight; and Bruno Borges and Felipe Fernandes rounded out the winners by beating 2 opponents each at light-featherweight and featherweight. It was a great day of grappling in Moscow and plenty of Russian competitors hit the podium outside the 3 champions.
