Fight 2 Win wrapped up for 2020 just a matter of weeks ago with their 159th event, but the promotion has wasted no time in getting ready for 2021 by announcing F2W 160 on January 16th. Fight 2 Win recently announced their end-of-year statistics and revealed that they managed to squeeze an impressive amount of work in what was the most challenging year for in their history. They still managed to pay over half a million dollars in athlete purses and despite this being a little under half of their previous year’s salaries, it was definitely a victory in a year where around half of the potential productivity was lost due to the pandemic.
The headline match for their first event of 2021 represents another huge opportunity for William Tackett, who recently cemented his place among the top grapplers on the planet when he submitted Fellipe Andrew at Third Coast Grappling 5. He will take on one of the most brutal grapplers around in Vagner Rocha, who is also coming into the match on the back of a victory this month, although he wasn’t able to get the finish in a close split decision win against 10th Planet’s Jon “Thor” Blank at Who’s Number One.
The promotion has also announced another two matchups for the event as Gabriel Almeida will be taking on Gracie Barra’s rising star, Pedro Marinho, and Hugo Marques faces off with ATOS prospect, Jonnatas Gracie. This means that Fight 2 Win will have a huge start to the year, especially with another two events scheduled for January, including Fight 2 Win 162 which will be their first all-female event ever.
