Kody Steele is a veteran grappler and Combat Jiu-Jitsu world champion but he’s already started to build up an impressive start to his MMA career after moving to 2-0 at a recent event. Steele competed at Fury FC 54 and was given the opportunity to fight for the promotion’s welterweight championship after he made his debut at their 49th event and won that fight in impressive fashion too. It took him even less time than his first trip to the cage and he has managed to continue displaying his improved striking skills, as he spent the entire fight on his feet.

Although, it wasn’t actually very long at all in the end. It took Kody Steele just 13 seconds to land the fight-ending shot and earn the first title of his MMA career in a stunning display of how heavy his hands are. It was always a forgone conclusion that Steele would be the superior grappler in every MMA fight he would compete in for quite some time but to find himself to be the superior striker as well is a great sign for his career. As it stands, it looks unlikely that any regional MMA fighters will be able to put him in any trouble and he is likely ready for a big step up in opponent. After the fight he decided to take the time to give his thanks to his training partners and other supporters:

“This past weekend I was able to secure the win and take home the @furyfighting welterweight title. This fight I really wanted to showcase some of the striking tools that I’ve been working on. After the first 13 seconds, I was able to get a walk off KO in the first round. I just want to say thank you to everyone who supports me and who has been sending me awesome message. Thank you everyone who took the time out of their schedules to help me prepare for this fight. And big thanks to my amazing sponsors and supporters who keep making this dream a reality! I’m excited to see how this journey is gonna unfold and I have a feeling that this is only a glimpse of what I’m capable of! Until next time lessss gooo!”

Kody Steele posted the full video of the second fight of his MMA career, his stunning 13 second knockout at Fury FC 54, to his official Instagram account:
