There are many different rulesets that have been created to allow teams of grapplers to compete against one another, to varying degrees of success. The Quintet format is among the most popular and widely-used versions of team grappling, where two teams of five grapplers compete in sequential winner-stays-on matches. Polaris Squads uses a similar idea with larger teams, while other promotions have experimented with smaller teams or even tag-team matches. As time has gone on, more and more rulesets have been developed to allow grapplers to group together in competition.
