Charles Oliveira is an elite BJJ black belt who has used his skills to great effect during his professional MMA career. Oliveira started training BJJ at 12 years old in 2001 and although he won multiple titles as a colored belt, he transitioned to MMA when he turned 18 in 2007. He was undefeated on the regional MMA circuit during his first few years competing in the sport and was signed to the UFC in 2010. Since then, Oliveira has gone on to win the UFC lightweight world championship and holds the record for the highest number of submission finishes in the promotion.
