Sarah Galvao has just become the latest elite competitor to sign a contract with Polaris, further deepening their impressive roster for next year. The promotion has finished all their shows until 2026, so now they’re hard at work securing the services of some of the best in the sport ready to hit the ground running with Polaris 35. Galvao is the latest in an impressive list of additions that they’ve been announcing recently, and their existing roster was already solid. Along with their recent signing of Danielle Kelly, this also shows that they’re putting quite a lot of effort in to building out their female weight classes.
Galvao is one of the very best in the world at under 65kg in both gi and no gi, so she’d instantly be a contender as soon as she makes her debut. There’s a very interesting matchup right there for the making too, as Helena Crevar is the promotion’s current featherweight champion and she already has some history with Galvao. Galvao actually won their first match in the gi earlier this year when they were competing as brown belts, but they’ve crossed paths again since then. They met in the final of the women’s $100,000 tournament at CJI 2 and Crevar got her revenge with a submission win there.
Galvao signing with Polaris may well be the first step towards a trilogy match between the two young stars, or she might be looking to make a run at a title in another weight class. There’s a third option on the table too, which is that Galvao might be joining with other competitors to form a Polaris Squads team. They hosted their first female Squads match at Polaris 32 and it was a resounding success, so it’s a pretty safe bet that they’ll look to run that idea back again at some point soon. No matter how they choose to book Galvao, she’ll be bringing her aggressive and action-packed style no matter what.
Sarah Galvao will make the first appearances of her Polaris contract in 2026; which will be available to watch exclusively on FloGrappling, click here to subscribe and watch.
