Roberto Jimenez is one of the most exciting BJJ competitors of his generation and apparently there are a few promotions out there who’ve tried to book him, but can’t meet his price. According to Jimenez, he’s had offers from several different competition organizers but they haven’t been willing to pay him what he believes that he’s worth. He revealed that he’s not asking for absurd amounts of money either, he just wants to be paid appropriately for how much value he knows he’s going to deliver to the event that books him.

It makes sense too, because Jimenez has definitely become a fan-favourite over the past few years thanks to his exciting style. He’s not just fun to watch though, as he’s managed to beat several top competitors since he was promoted to black belt back at the beginning of 2020. Some of the names on his resume really stand out like Nicky Rodriguez, Pedro Marinho, and Keenan Cornelius, while he also owns two wins over each of the Ruotolo brothers. He has an astonishingly high submission-rate even against the best competitors on the planet, which is part of the reason why he’s such a great name to add to any fight card.

When promotions have been willing and able to bring him on board, he’s always delivered what he’s promised. Just last year he stormed to victory in the Polaris middleweight grand prix, winning $20,000 and putting on the JitsMagazine ‘Match of the Year’ when he met Hunter Colvin in the semi-finals. Last year was probably his best competitive year to date, as he also won the 77kg division at the ADCC South American trials, booking his place at that year’s world championship for the first time. It’s been clear for quite some time that Roberto Jimenez is one of the best competitors at his weightclass and he always delivers non-stop action, so it’s good to hear that he knows what he’s worth and he’s not willing to settle for less from BJJ promotions.

Roberto Jimenez revealed that several BJJ promotions have reached out to him but haven’t been willing to meet his price in a recent story to his official Instagram account:
