Chronic Kombat is a relatively new promotion that has grown substantially over the last few years and this match between Kyle Danger Shaw and Daryl Cocozzo is actually the main event of their very first show from back on December 10th, 2021. It was a huge moment for Shaw as he actually stepped up at the last minute to take this superfight and finished the night by taking home the promotion’s championship belt. With Rene Sousa acting as the referee for the match, Shaw was taken down early and Cocozzo started to work his passing game.
The match progressed from there and although Cocozzo threatened with a double-under pass for quite some time, Shaw was able to use an underhook to shut him down. That allowed Shaw to start being more offensive with his guard and put Cocozzo under a little more pressure than he was initially. Cocozzo did pass to north-south briefly but he couldn’t hold the position for long, but he took advantage of the situation to dive on a kneebar instead. Shaw defended calmly and intelligently before launching into a counter-leglock of his own, locking up the heel hook that caused Cocozzo to tap.
