Polaris Squads 3 is slowly getting closer and the lineup of competitors just keeps growing. Now, the first two men who will be weighing in for the under 95kg category have just been announced too. ‘The Raspberry Ape’ Dan Strauss is a phenomenal grappler and a veteran of team grappling who will be joining Team UK & Ireland, while Richie ‘Boogieman’ Martinez will be bringing his unique 10th Planet grappling style to Team USA. They will be joining the recent announcements of Ross Nicholls and JT Torres for Team UK & Ireland and Team USA respectively.

With the team captains already announced as Irish BJJ legend Darragh O’Connail and American two-time ADCC World Champion JT Torres, the event has already attracted some huge names in the sport and hasn’t even filled up halfway yet. As has become the norm for Polaris Squads, the two teams of eight competitors will be clashing over two forty-minute periods for a minimum of sixteen matches in a format that has routinely delivered some phenomenal action.

The full play-by-play and live results for the first Polaris Squads can be found here, along with the full play-by-play and live results for the second Polaris Squads event here. Rest assured, we’ll be on hand again to provide the same for Polaris Squads 3.

Polaris Squads 3 featuring Team UK & Ireland v Team USA will be streamed live on 17th July on UFC FightPass, click here to subscribe and watch.
