The submission grappling match between Bryce Mitchell and Jean Silva at Hype Fighting: Brazil delivered plenty of action for the fans on March 11th, 2026. The ruleset had been changed since the first time they crossed paths back at UFC 314, and that in turn changed the result too. Silva got the win over Mitchell in their MMA fight by submitting him in the second round, but this time went a little differently. Mitchell was much more competitive without having to worry about strikes and both men were able to take a few more risks throughout the match as well.
Mitchell and Silva both came out strong and Mitchell managed to push Silva up against the ropes with a bodylock, but Silva reversed a takedown attempt beautifully to score one of his own. Mitchell popped back up and charged in again, but Silva countered another throw and wound up on top. Mitchell started working from guard but Silva walked away to let him back up. Silva went on the offensive at this point and Mitchell was able to counter-throw himself, landing in mount. Silva started to escape but Mitchell moved with him and stayed tight in side control, before stepping back over into mount.
Silva escaped again and this time worked his way back up to his feet when Mitchell attempted to pass. Silva got double underhooks and landed a big throw, but Mitchell didn’t let him settle and scrambled back to standing. Silva tried another throw but Mitchell leapt on to his back from standing; only for Silva to shrug him off and take top position when they landed. Mitchell stood back up and pressured Silva into the ropes again, but he couldn’t get the single-leg he was reaching for. The pace slowed a little but Silva hit a lovely duck-under to take Mitchell down in the final 30 seconds, and the match was ruled a draw in the end.
