The ADCC Charlotte Open 2025 took place on December 20th, 2025 and it was the final open tournament that the promotion put on for the year. It was a great day that attracted some serious talent; all eager to finish off their competitive year on a high note. Rising star Joslyn Molina continued her incredible year with another pair of gold medals, winning 6 matches across both the over 80kg and absolute divisions with 4 of those wins coming by submission. The men’s double champion was Joao Paulo and the 22 year-old brown belt beat 8 opponents, including UFC veteran Rory MacDonald, to win gold at under 91kg and in the absolute.
There were several other young contenders making big impressions too, as top purple belt prospects Avery Norris and Anthony Salisbury both submitted all 3 of their opponents to win the under 65kg and 76kg divisions respectively. It wasn’t just about the next generation of talent though; some of the best grapplers in the world right now also stepped on the mats to test themselves. Nathan Haddad won the under 83kg division by winning all 3 of his matches on points without conceding a single score, while Brenda Larissa won both her matches by submission at under 55kg.
