Are others like myself starting to notice the American grapplers are starting to catch up to the Brazillians?  When I say that I mean, a huge portion of the Gracies, other Brazillians now live in America.  All of thier students are USA, so has there been others go to the Mundials and accomplish what BJ has yet?

Any other Americans when the Gold at the Mundials?

All the American students are already dominating at white, blue and purple. In 5-10 years they will be dominating brown and black too because of the wave of Brazilian champions that are moving to the US. Big changes are coming in the next decade.

However, there are plenty of monsters in Brazil that will never be on the spotlight, all world champion calibure, but don’t have the funds to showcase their stuff at IBJJF tournaments…so there is a big shady area there that we may never get a good look at…

I agree that in the next 5-10 years there will be a huge change in champions that are American by birth and not Brazilian. I do agree that many of the hidden talent down in Brazil that doesnt have the financial means to showcase their talent in the big tournaments in California. Im currently staying 6 months in Indaiatuba, Brazil and have seen some Black belts that would put some o´s on peoples faces at Worlds or Pan Ams but they just dont have the money!!!

Exactly, I’ve seen some guys from Brazil that pull of things at 15 years old that takes guys in North America half their lives to pull off lol
