Meerkatsu’s ‘Heavenly Footlock’ Artwork Raises Thousands for Rape Survivor Charities
Words by Dave Menceles
BJJ graphic artist Seymour Yang, AKA Meerkatsu, teamed up with the folks at BJJ HQ, 93 Brand and Tatami Fightwear, in a collaboration project to raise money for rape survivor and awareness charity organizations; RAINN (Rape, Abuse and Incest National Network) and Rape Crisis (England & Wales).
Meerkatsu's illustration depicts the triumph of good over evil, of small over big and of tranquility over agression. As of this past month, the collaborating brands sold over 1,000 T-shirts adorned with the message-charged graphic, raising well over $10,000 for the charity organizations and undoubtedly making a difference in the lives of many rape victims that benefit from the help of these charities.
We are proud to be part of such a positive and supportive international BJJ community, and we love to see people drawing on their talents to make the world a better place through jiu-jitsu. Big respect to Meerkatsu and all of the collaborators on this project.
